Dearest Lord, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, hold this
precious world and all its peoples in your loving hands, especially those
suffering violence and fear in Africa and the Middle East. Teach us to
love creation and one another as Christ loves us.
Dearest Lord, we pray.
Dearest Lord, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, hold our
little church on the Salish Sea in your hands. Especially bless the life
and work of our new rector, Berto, whom we will welcome with open
minds and arms in August. Teach us to love creation and one another as
Christ loves us.
Dearest Lord, we pray.
Dearest Lord, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, hold this
great nation, the United States of America, in your loving hands,
teaching us, especially our leaders, to love creation and all peoples, no
matter their circumstance, as Christ loves us.
Dearest Lord, we pray.
Dearest Lord, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, hold the
whole of the social order in your loving hands -- especially the sick, the
weary, the sad, the lonely, the lost, the poor, the scared, the grieving.
Teach us to love and care for them as Christ loves us.
Dearest Lord, we pray.
Dearest Lord, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, hold the
natural world in your loving hands. Bless the skies and seas and earth
and all that swim and fly and walk upon it -- so beautiful, so vital! Teach
us to love and care for creation as Christ loves us.
Dearest Lord, we pray.
Dearest Lord, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, hold
each one of us and our families in your loving hands during our hours of
need and uncertainty, especially those on our parish prayer list…
teaching us to trust in your tender mercies and to love and
support one another as Christ loves us.
Dearest Lord, we pray.

Celebrant: Dearest Lord, we do not know how to pray as we ought, but
we trust that all things work together for good for those who love God.
We hear your sighs too deep for words and wait patiently for your
intercession.
