Dearest Lord, you have been our refuge in the world from one generation to another. In your graciousness, look down upon your troubled world. Increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and love so that we might help heal the wounds of the world.

In Christ we pray.

Dearest Lord, you have been our refuge in the church from one generation to another. In your graciousness, help us to honor your commandments — to love you with all our hearts and souls and minds and to love one other as we love ourselves.

In Christ we pray.

Dearest Lord, you have been our refuge in this great nation from one generation to another. In your graciousness, prosper the work of our hands, especially the work of faith, hope, and love. Teach us to love what you command.

In Christ we pray.

Dearest Lord, you have been our refuge across the social order, from one generation to another, as we struggle with hunger and homelessness, depression and despair, loneliness and loss. In your graciousness, increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and love as we care for one another.

In Christ we pray.

Dearest Lord, you have been refuge for birds and bees, seas and skies, meadows and trees, from one generation to another. Perhaps better than humans, they trust in your purpose. In your graciousness, help us to use the gifts of faith, hope, and love to care for your creation.

In Christ we pray.

Dearest Lord, look down with graciousness upon our small island in the Salish Sea, upon the hearts of those who have found refuge in you from one generation to another, including those on our parish prayer list.  Look also with graciousness upon those who do not know you at all, so that each one of us might rejoice and be glad, all the days our life.

In Christ we pray.

Presider: Lord, you have been our refuge from one generation to another. Increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and love. Prosper the works of our hands. Make us love what you command. Amen.
