Father, Mother Lord, our earth is in peril to greed, violence and hatred. Our sins and omissions herald our destruction. Turn us around, Lord. Teach us to care for the earth as a mother, and for each other as sisters and brothers in love.

In Christ we pray.

Father, Mother Lord, the mission of your church, through Christ, is the salvation of the world. Create in us a hunger and thirst for your righteousness, teach us to be merciful, to be peacemakers, to be pure in heart and unafraid of persecution in your name.

In Christ we pray.

Father, Mother Lord, our nation must be reconciled in love — love for each other, love for our land, love for the future and its peoples. Teach us to love lavishly, generously, to love without prejudice or desire for personal gain.

In Christ we pray.

Father, Mother Lord, you have instructed us that our purpose is to care for those in need, for those who seek safety, solace, shelter and food, for those who seek justice and equality under the law. Help us to remember that in service to the least of our brothers and sisters, we serve you.

In Christ we pray.

Father, Mother Lord. The earth is our home, our breath, our inspiration. Creator God, we thank you for this bounteous gift. Help us to care for our home by preserving its waters, its skies, and the land we share with all life.

In Christ we pray.

Father, Mother Lord. You have promised that, through Jesus, those who have died will be with you forever. Let this promise be a comfort to those who mourn. Also comfort those who suffer in their earthly life. Do not leave them alone, without hope of healing. We lift those we now name, silently and aloud (pause), for your special care, including those on our parish prayer list:

In Christ we pray.

Presider: Father, Mother Lord, you are our helper and deliverer. Hear our humble prayers. O Lord, do not tarry.
