Lector: O Lord, as we enter Holy Week, let us be inspired by our priests, Berto and Hugh, to be your servants.
We give thanks to you LORD, for you are good; your mercy endures forever.
O Lord, just as we hold your triumphant entry into Jerusalem and your crucifixion in tension, we hold the competing voices in our country and community in tension. Help our leaders reflect on your story over this week, so they may lead us to a secure, sustainable and peaceful future.
We give thanks to you LORD, for you are good; your mercy endures forever.
O Lord, as you rescue us from the hand of our enemies, help us see that they are also your children. If we both see that, perhaps there can be true peace on this earth.
We give thanks to you LORD, for you are good; your mercy endures forever.
O Lord, when we are asked are we Christian, do we answer I do not know or do we show that we are through our love and actions. Lord, give us strength to be your servants.
We give thanks to you LORD, for you are good; your mercy endures forever.
O Lord, let us not grow weary of the hospital district debate but understand the issues so we may cast our vote next month with knowledge.
We give thanks to you LORD, for you are good; your mercy endures forever.
O Lord, some that we know and love are in trouble, failing in strength, consumed with sorrow or wasted in grief, help them to remember that your face shines upon them and rescue them. We ask this especially for (pause for spoke or silent names) and particularly for those on our parish prayer list,,,,
We give thanks to you LORD, for you are good; your mercy endures forever.
Our times are in your hands: comfort those near death, welcome those who have died and let those that mourn take solace in loving memories.
We give thanks to you LORD, for you are good; your mercy endures forever.
Presider: O Lord, as you hear the prayers of your servants, you know our spirit indeed is willing, but our flesh is weak; help us to keep awake to do your will upon this earth. AMEN.
