Lector: Dear Lord, Creator of all heaven and earth, In this time we pray to you for peace and assurance. We pray with zeal for your guidance in decision making for our nation, be with the President, be with our representatives, that Your will shall be known.
Lord, Hear our prayer. God is light and in him there is no darkness.

Bless and guide our Bishop Gregory, Fr. Berto, Fr. Hugh, our Vestry, Karen and Lisa, Bill and Margie, Tim our Custodian, and all who bring their vitality to your service through the community of Emmanuel.
Lord, we are blessed and grateful for this open and welcoming church family. Bring our hearts the inspiration of your Holy Spirit.

We pray for your world churches and ministers in this time of need, that they may be powerful leaders of example, strength and purpose in your service.
Lord, protect your churches in vulnerable areas of the world. May they show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith.

We pray for this island community, for the children, families, teachers, for those in transition, those carrying burdens, and for our neighbors. Bless each one, as you know our needs.
Lord, we are one family in the light of your love. In God there is no darkness.

We pray for all people who suffer danger, fear, famine, homelessness, war and turmoil. We long to be instruments of your love in creating peace in the world. Let us not be timid to speak and act accordingly.
Lord, guide us to show forth in our lives, what we profess by our faith.

We pray for the natural environment we cherish, for the animals, the earth, the air, forests, oceans, rivers, and for those who are entrusted with the care and policies for the changing climate. God, teach and lead us to speak boldly for the respect and use of your creation.
Lord, inspire us to show forth in our lives, what we profess by our faith.

We pray for those suffering from any kind of illness, pain, fear, insecurity, addiction, (silently or aloud)and for those we name here:
Lord, we are one family in the light of your love. In God there is no darkness.

We pray for those who have died, that they are joyful in your care. Thank you for the saints and angels we know surround them with your love.
Lord, may the great grace of the resurrection of Lord Jesus be with them.

We pray for our candidates for confirmation and reception into the Episcopal church: Anthony, Emillie, Lawrence, Linda, Nancy, Sally, Sparks and Tom, as they prepare for the laying on of hands by our Bishop on April 28.
Lord, may your steady love be with them in their journey and may your light illuminate their way.

We pray to use the gifts you have blessed us with, to carry the spirit of Jesus into our daily life. We pray that we will do the work you lead us to, in service where you show us the need, giving ourselves with joy and gratitude.
We are your grateful children, Lord. We are one family in the light of your love.

Presider: Gracious Mother/Father God, creator of our being, thank you for the quiet place you give us to listen to you. We pray from our hearts, to share with each other the love you offer freely. Keep us in your care as we go about your work, as taught by Jesus the Christ. Amen.
