Lector: Life-giving God, we pray for your church and all who proclaim your greatness, may everyone taste and see that the Lord is good.

Life-giving God, we pray for these United States, our President, Donald, our Governor, Jay, the US Congress and the state legislature may they put away all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another.

Life-giving God, we pray for this precious earth, our island home, and all inhabitants, may we be better stewards for future generations are not terrorized by fire.

Life-giving God, we pray for our beloved Orcas Island and this parish Emmanuel, may we reach out and invite our friends and neighbors to the upcoming parish picnic.

Life-giving God, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list…; deliver them from their terror, save them from their troubles and comfort them.

Life-giving God, you alone have power over life and death, over health and sickness: give strength, wisdom, and gentleness to those who follow the lead of Florence Nightingale, born on this date in 1820, that they, bearing with them your presence, may not only heal but bless.

Presider: Life-giving God, as you hear these prayers of your faithful servants, give us the grace to put our fears aside so we may accept your will and be your loving servants. Amen.
