Lord of heaven and earth, we give thanks for the leaders of our church, Michael, Greg, Berto and Hugh as they guide us through these uncharted waters so we may still fulfil your mission.

Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, nor withheld his love from me.

Lord of heaven and earth, we pray for these United States and its leaders, Donald, Mitch, Nancy, and Jay, so they use their political and rhetorical skills effectively rather than divisively to protect lives and opportunity.

Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, nor withheld his love from me.

Lord of heaven and earth, we give thanks for the beauty of this earth as we in the Northern hemisphere enjoy spring and those in the Southern hemisphere embrace fall, may national and corporate leaders remember that despite those differences, we are all coping with the physical and emotional effects of a tiny virus. Let us not be so distracted to forget to pray during these Rogation days for agriculture and aquatic life to have food to sustain us.

Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, nor withheld his love from me.

Lord of heaven and earth, as we deal with fear, isolation and loneliness on our beloved Orcas island, let us remember it is better to suffer for doing good by distancing to protect the most vulnerable, if suffering should be God’s will, than to suffer for doing evil. Let us not forget that each one of us are Your offspring so we may see the Christ in each other including those visiting Orcas from the mainland, for in You we live and move and have our being and that is true for everyone.

Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, nor withheld his love from me.

Lord of heaven and earth, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list…; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit. We give thanks for all who provide the many forms of care to those in need recognizing there is risk not only in responding but also by ignoring.

Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, nor withheld his love from me.

Lord of heaven and earth, we pray for those who are near death and those who have died, especially those isolated from family because of the virus.

Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, nor withheld his love from me.

Presider: Lord of heaven and earth, we know you hear our prayers and love us, help us to accept your will so we may be your faithful servants, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Amen.
