Lord, we give thanks for these United States as we approach this election in a period of division. Let us remember that some of us will be happy with the results and some sad; may all not be frightened at bad news and all hearts be steady trusting in the Lord.

Lord, we know you are full of mercy and compassion, we pray that those suffering from COVID-19 throughout this world receive mercy.

Lord, we give thanks for scientists, clinicians, doctors and nurses who work diligently to develop vaccines and treatments for this pandemic as well as clergy, counselors and mental health workers who help people cope with their fear and loss.

Lord, we rejoice with those who have moved into April’s Grove and give thanks for workers and volunteers who made the dream of new rental homes close to Eastsound a reality.

Lord, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.

Lord, we give thanks for all your saints that have traveled this earth before us, especially Emmanuel parishioners who have died this year: …, give us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living because those who adore your commandments, are truly happy!
