Intercessor: Emmanuel, God-with-us, we are overwhelmed
with your presence, humble yet divine. Our hearts are
filled with longing for the day when all people will see
your glory, when none of your people will know hunger,
loneliness, or fear; when each of us will know the peace
of your presence.
We pray for all whom God has made.
Our hope is for peace for all nations, and leaders whose
desire is for justice and equality.
We pray for the peace of the world.
Our yearning is for wholeness for those who ache, whose
lives are shattered, whose hope is lost.
We pray for those who suffer and for the end of their
suffering. We also pray for those on our parish prayer
list:

Our hope is for those who have died and entered that
place where there is no pain or grief, but life eternal.
We pray for those who have died.
Our deepest prayer is that we may learn and grow in your
love, and bear witness to the world that God is with us.
We pray that the One who has given us these desires,
give us also the grace and power to work toward their
fulfillment.

Let us pray for those celebrating Birthdays this week:
O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor,
we pray, on your servant Lawrence Jackson (12/30),
as he begins another year. Grant that he may grow
in wisdom and grace, and strengthen his trust in
your goodness all the days of his life; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.

Let us pray for those celebrating wedding anniversaries
this week: Celebrating God, whose love enfolds the
whole of life, who calls us into union with you and
with one another, and who in creation blessed the
partnership of marriage: on this wedding
anniversary, grant to your servants Stan and
Gretchen Liebenberg (12/27), and Doug and Judy
Schliebus (12/29), and to all who celebrate with
them, thankful hearts for all that is past, joyful hearts
for this day’s blessings and hopeful hearts for what is
still to come. In the name of God the Maker, Son
and Spirit, one God in community. Amen.
