The St. Agnes Guild was formed in the 1930s to raise funds to refurbish the church building and, during the war years, to also send money to world funds such as the Red Cross. We still do both, though outreach now focuses on our island.
The very first Market Day Sale was held in 1940 and continues today to provide needed funds for the community outreach programs and non-profits that benefit Orcas island adults and children. In 2017, $7,750 was donated to Orcas non-profits.
Last year’s Market Day and Holiday sales also provided $6,500 toward church repairs, specifically the restoration underway where the church faces the sea. Take a look. Thanks for your work and donations that made this possible!
