Dearest Lord, it is obvious by the strife and suffering in the world that we trust too much in human wisdom.  Bless us with the mind of Christ, as revealed through the Holy Spirit, so that we might be called peacemakers and healers.

We humbly pray.

Dearest Lord, it is clear what you have asked us to do: help us stand with our Bishops and Priests to loose the bonds of injustice, to let the oppressed go free, to share our bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into our houses.

We humbly pray.

Dearest Lord, in the midst of turmoil in America, we seek your guidance, so that your light shall rise in the darkness and your servants shall be called repairers of the breach, restorers of streets to live in.

We humbly pray.

Dearest Lord, help us to love like Christ as we minister to the needs of others, as we offer food to the hungry and bend with compassion to the needs of the afflicted.

We humbly pray.

Dearest Lord, your earth is like a watered garden, like a spring of water whose waters never fail.  Help us to honor and care for the earth so that our children and their children and all creatures who creep and crawl and swim and fly on the earth will forever enjoy its abundant life.

We humbly pray.

Dearest Lord, we ask for the blessing of your healing spirit on those suffering in mind, body, and spirit, whom we now name, silently or aloud (pause).  Be especially with those on our parish prayer list:

We humbly pray.

Presider:  Lord, set our our hearts right.  Fill us with the mind of Christ so that we might do your work in the world.  Amen.
