Precious Lord, like Abraham, let your church answer, “Here I am.”  Help our little church by the water to be a holy temple, acceptable to you and joined in unity of spirit during this time of transition and call.

Precious Lord, like Abraham, let our great nation answer, “Here I am” to the needs of Americans of all races, creeds, incomes, abilities, genders and sexual orientations. Help  us to become instruments of righteousness, lifting all peoples in love.

Precious Lord, like Abraham, let us answer, “Here I am” to the homeless and hungry, to the sick and despairing, to the lonely and lost.  Teach us to be servants to their needs, instruments of your love in the world.

Dearest Lord, like Abraham, let us answer, “Here I am,” to the call of the natural world.  Let us honor and care for the beautiful skies and seas and earth you gave us.  Let us love all animals — mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and insects — so varied and abundant in our island paradise.

Dearest Lord, like Abraham, let us answer, “Here I am” to our families, friends, and neighbors in need, especially those on our parish prayer list.  Let us lean towards them with compassionate ears; let us bend before them in service, slaves of love for one another.
