Lector: Dearest Lord, out of the depths we call to you to help us repair our broken world. Lift us from our narrow human perspective of separateness; help us to see that, across the borders of di?erence, we are one people in your love.
I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; in his word is my hope.
Dearest Lord, out of the depths we call to you for guidance for your church. Let us not look outward with judgment, but rather lift our brothers and sisters, of all faiths and perspectives, in love.
I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; in his word is my hope.
Dearest Lord, out of the depths we call to you to help us heal our nation, too much torn by racial bloodshed. Help us to lift our neighbors in love and acceptance, so that we might truly live our Declaration of Independence.
I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; in his word is my hope.
Dearest Lord, out of the depths we call to you to help us recognize and address the inequality in our nation, in which good food, safe homes, health, education, and opportunity are increasingly enjoyed by the few, to the loss of the many. Help us to see that loving care for the least in society was the example and work of Jesus, so that we might also ?nd our mission there.
I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; in his word is my hope.
Dearest Lord, out of the depths we call to you to help us repair our home, the earth, which we have sullied with greed and disrespect. Help us to know that the earth is our mother and that all who creep and crawl and swim and ?y upon it are our brothers and sisters. Even the rocks and sky and the waters are ?lled with your spirit. Help us to love the earth as we love you, our divine creator.
I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; in his word is my hope.
Dearest Lord, out of the depths we call to you to be with our brothers and sisters who su?er sadness, sickness, despair, death and other a?ictions of body, soul, and circumstance. You instructed us, “Do not fear; only believe.” We believe in your loving care as we bend in service to one another, especially those on our parish prayer list….
I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; in his word is my hope.
Presider: Jesus said, “Do not fear; only believe.” Let us carry that faith into our daily lives and work in the world. Amen.
