Dearest Lord, we know the failings of the human point of view, how it becomes hardened in  opinions that cause pain, argument, and war.  Let the peoples of our nation be reconciled in love  for one another.

Dearest Lord, once we know Christ, we see His face in all faces, especially those of the poor, the alien, the outcast, the sick, the disabled, the orphaned, and the widowed.  Turn our hearts in Christ toward those in need.

Dearest Lord, all creation is your temple.  Let us love the earth for the miracle it is — our home, our sustenance, and the beauty without which we should die.

Dearest Lord, we find hope in the words of your servant Paul: “If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; everything old has passed away.”  Be with those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit.  Make them new in Christ’s love, especially those on our parish prayer list:
