Dearest Lord, we know that it is not for us to know the times you have set, but in our suffering, especially in Manchester, England, and in war and famine zones across the world, do not leave us comfortless, Send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us in love and care for one another.
Christ himself will restore, support, strengthen and establish us.
Dearest Lord, let your church and its people be your witnesses to the ends of the earth. Send us to do your work of love in the world. Help us to constantly devote ourselves to prayer for the suffering.
Christ himself will restore, support, strengthen and establish us.
Dearest Lord, help us to remember the founding principles of our nation, that we are all created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights. Help us to lift up every man, woman and child to life, liberty, and the possibility of happiness.
Christ himself will restore, support, strengthen and establish us.
Dearest Lord, Father of orphans, defender of widows, you give the solitary a home and bring prisoners into freedom. You make provision for the poor. Help us to remember that our work on earth is your work. Do not let us be distracted from your purpose.
Christ himself will restore, support, strengthen and establish us.
Dearest Lord, everything we have is given from you, including this beautiful earth, our home. Help us to us celebrate the return of life and bird song with praise and tender care for the earth.
Christ himself will restore, support, strengthen and establish us.
Dearest Lord, you call us to cast all our anxiety onto you because you care for us. We ask your care for those who suffer in body, mind, and spirit. Be with the recently deceased and their grieving families. Be especially with those whom we now name, silently and aloud:
Christ himself will restore, support, strengthen and establish us.
Presider: Do not leave us comfortless; send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us. Amen.
