Lector: Holy Immortal One, may all who can hear with understanding be enlightened by your laws through the good instruction of our priests, Berto and Hugh, as well as our Bishops, Michael and Greg
Your joy is our strength
Holy Immortal One, open the hearts and minds of Donald, our President, and members of Congress to remind them that even when bitterness and self-interest seem to prevail, we still share a common destiny.
Your joy is our strength
Holy Immortal One, we are individual members of the body of Christ and what happens to some of us affects all of us. 800,000 government workers are not able to do their jobs because of a government shutdown. Be with those workers as well as their families and give them strength to meet the days ahead. Help us to come together to provide for those in need.
Your joy is our strength
Holy Immortal One, protect and comfort all those in harm’s way from war, disease, weather, or fire throughout the world.
Your joy is our strength
Holy Immortal One, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list…; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
Your joy is our strength
Holy Immortal One, we pray for all who have died, for those near death, for those sitting vigil bedsides and for those that mourn.
Your joy is our strength
Presider: Holy Immortal One, your joy is indeed our strength, may these prayers of your people be acceptable in your sight and may we accept your will through Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
