Lector: Eternal God, we give thanks for the leaders of your church, especially Michael, Greg, Berto and Hugh may they help us to be attentive to your teachings as to a lamp shining in a dark place so we may be your faithful servants.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Eternal God, we ask that the leaders of these United States, especially Donald, Nancy and Mitch, remember and be guided by the law and commandment that you handed down to Moses on Mount Sinai.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Eternal God, we give thanks for this precious earth and ask your guidance for us to be good stewards of the resources that you have provided.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Eternal God, we ask for compassion on those infected with COVID-19 and peace for those worrying about its possible transmission.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Eternal God, may your Holy Spirit be with us, the Emmanuel Parish, as we hold our Annual Meeting today. We give thanks for those concluding their vestry terms, Clark, Lori and Luann, and may the returning and new vestry members be good stewards of the parish’s resources so we may be good servants.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Eternal God, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list…; may they remember your words to be not afraid.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Eternal God, we remember those who have died and those near death, may angels welcome them and memories soothe those that mourn.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Eternal God, the maker of heaven and earth, we remember your venerable servant, the holy and gentle Polycarp, who was martyred on this date in 156, give us grace to follow his example and to share the cup of Christ and rise to eternal life.
Happy are we as we take refuge in you.
Presider: Eternal God, we are blessed to follow the teachings of your beloved son, Jesus Christ; please accept the prayers of your humble servants and help us to discern and accept your will through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
