O Most High, it is a good thing to give thanks and to sing praises to your Name. We give thanks for your church, and its leaders Michael, Greg, Berto and Hugh. May they inspire us to give our neighbors a good life.
For you have made me glad by your acts, O Lord.
O Most High, we give thanks for these United States. We pray that our elected leaders keep us safe while protecting the dignity of every human being.
For you have made me glad by your acts, O Lord.
O Most High, we give thanks for all who have risked their lives to keep us safe, nourished, and healthy this last year and continue to this year as we emerge from the pandemic, especially first responders, grocery store workers, doctors, nurses and scientists.
For you have made me glad by your acts, O Lord.
O Most High, we give thanks for the blessing of living on Orcas Island surrounded by trees where the birds of the air can make nests in its shade. Give us the courage and wisdom to find permanent solutions to homelessness and inadequate housing on Orcas for island workers, so we can all live here.
For you have made me glad by your acts, O Lord.
O Most High, we give thanks for all our brothers and sisters and pray especially for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… and those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
For you have made me glad by your acts, O Lord.
O Most High, we give thanks for the life of our ancestors and the recently departed. May their memory comfort those that mourn and inspire us to witness cheerfully our faith.
For you have made me glad by your acts, O Lord.
