Intercessor: Dear Lord of Heaven and Earth, You are the Alpha and Omega. We pray to you with hearts longing to know your peace for all the world, as we are all your children Lord, in all our differences, we are yours.
Lord, you are the protector of all who trust in you, and without you nothing is strong, nothing is holy.
We surrender our longing into your hands Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray for your churches throughout the world, in their many forms, that your Holy Spirit shall inspire them to serve others with kindness and compassion. The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve. Let us follow his example in love.
Bless the hands and hearts of Emmanuel Church in your service as a vessel of your love, Lord, for all who enter our church, our Labyrinth, and our Market Day.
Bless Bishop Greg, Father Berto, Father Hugh, the dedicated volunteers creating Market Day, and all those who serve in many ways, both seen and unseen. Your power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than we can ask or imagine.
Bless this community. Lord make us a beacon of your compassion and love, as taught by your son, Jesus Christ.
We pray for these United States, founded on equality, with liberty and justice for all. May you be the guidance for our President, and those making decisions for the welfare of our nation and the world. May they be grounded in your love, which surpasses our understanding.
We surrender our longing into your hands Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Bless this earth home and all of your creation great and small. Teach us to respect our fragile earth and save your resources which sustain life. Your power at work within us can accomplish more than we can ask or imagine. Your blessings are beyond our understanding.
We surrender our longing into your hands, Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ.
We cannot imagine the trauma of huge fires and sudden floods destroying towns and lives here and in Europe. We pray for all of them, and for families separated, and the loss of basic daily needs around the world.
We pray for those in need of food, shelter, health care, and kindness, for those in pain, fear, or any kind of suffering. WE prayBless those who are with them in your love. Bless those whose needs you know, Lord. Be with those we now name, silently and aloud (pause), and those on our prayer list:… (please pray slowly) and for those for whom no one prays, may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
We surrender our longing into your loving hands Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Bless all who have died, especially Isaac Aragon-Smith and Bob Clemens, that they are in your joyous company of angels and archangels. Bless those who carry the love and remembrance in their hearts.
We surrender our longing into your hands, Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Thank you, dear Lord, for our bountiful blessings, both in our daily life and as we return to you for our comfort and strength. As Christ dwells in our hearts, may we become rooted and grounded in love and service. May the Holy Spirit lead us through our days with gratitude and delight in your love, to accomplish abundantly far more than we can ask or imagine.
We put our trust in you, Lord, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy. As Jesus withdrew to the mountain by himself, let us shelter in the solace of your Love, to renew our spirit in your grace. In his name we pray.
Let us pray for those celebrating Birthdays this week:
O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servant, Jan Koltun (7/30) as she begins another year. Grant that she may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen her trust in your goodness all the days of her life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let us pray for those celebrating Anniversaries this week:
Grant, O God, in your compassion, that Carl & Marianne Lewis (7/25), Paul & Mary Greenwell (7/27) and David & Sarah Moore (7/31), having taken each other in marriage, and affirming again the covenant which they have made, may grow in forgiveness, loyalty, and love; and come at last to the eternal joys which you have promised through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
