Eternal God of Abraham and Sarah, of Isaac and Rebecca, of Jacob, Leah and Rachel, may your church in all its forms inspire each of us so that when we sit down to eat and drink, we rise up not to play but rather to praise you and be your servants.

O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you; Your loving kindness is better than life itself.

Eternal God, give the leaders of these United States and on these islands, wisdom and strength to respond to the challenges we face so we may live in safety and sustainably.

O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you; Your loving kindness is better than life itself.

Eternal God, you observed the misery of your people in Egypt ages ago, observe the misery in Ukraine today and deliver them.

O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you; Your loving kindness is better than life itself.

Eternal God, as spring arrives on Orcas, may we be like the patient gardener, rather than the impatient man, and tend the fig trees and crops so they may bear fruit in due time.

O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you; Your loving kindness is better than life itself.

Eternal God, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… and those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.

O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you; Your loving kindness is better than life itself.

Eternal God, may we remember those who have died and comfort those that are close to death or mourn.  We give thanks for the life and courage of Bishop Thomas Ken who the church remembers today and who wrote the words of the Doxology.

O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you; Your loving kindness is better than life itself.
