Precious Father Mother God, we pray for peace in the world. Peace in our hearts, peace in our families, peace in our communities, peace in our nation, peace among nations. Be especially with those suffering war and other catastrophes, including the heartbroken parents of the young people who were crushed in South Korea.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Father Mother God, we pray for your church, that it might be strengthened in every good work and deed. We pray for our priests, Berto and Hugh, that you might bless them in their work and lives. We ask your blessing on Bishop Greg as he transitions to new work, and on our lay leaders in their good work for the parish and community.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Father Mother God, we pray for our nation during this mid-term week. Bring us together in truth and love, that every American might celebrate the promise of liberty, life, and justice for all.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Father Mother God, we pray for those who struggle to secure basic needs: “for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
In Christ we pray.
Precious Father Mother God, thank you for this beautiful earth. We stand in awe at its beauty and nourishment of life. Help us to care for the earth with tender hearts and hands, so that our children and their children might also be delighted and nourished.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Father Mother God, we thank you for your eternal comfort and good hope. Be with those who are sick, injured, afraid, anxious, angry, confused, depressed, and despairing. Be with the deceased and their friends and families; we know that in you, all of them are alive. Be especially with the friends and family members we now name (pause), including those on our parish prayer list:
The Lord is near to those who call upon him. In Christ we pray.
