Lord, we give thanks for your church in all its forms and especially this Emmanuel parish. We give thanks for our Bishop Greg, our priests Berto and Hugh, asking that they may teach us your ways so we may walk in your path.

Lord, your prophet Isaiah said they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. May we be blessed to see this come true in our lives on this earth wherever conflict reins.

Lord, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… and those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
