Precious Lord, in this season of your birth, we pray for the reconciliation promised in Isaiah. Help us to lay aside our arguments, that we might find peace with one another. Be especially with those suffering war, oppression, violence and dislocation.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Lord, we pray for our church, that we might be an example of the harmony you seek for us. Bless our priests, our vestry, and our lay workers as they shepherd the work of our church; bless those who offer their hearts and hands to the community; and bless all of us in our relationships, that we might be humble examples of your loving kindness.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Lord, we pray for our nation, that the little hills and the great mountains and the fruitful prairies and surrounding seas might sing out the righteousness of your love. Especially inspire our leaders to defend the needy among our people.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Lord, you ask us to welcome one another, just as Christ welcomed us in our brokenness. Help us to meet the needs of our neighbors with tenderest of hearts, especially those lacking sufficient food, shelter, and compassionate care.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Lord, let us not forget the earth itself, as creation waits quietly, patiently, faithfully, for the coming light. Help us to love the earth as Mary loves the baby Jesus.
In Christ we pray.
Precious Lord, we are filled with joy and peace in believing; therefore, we abound in hope for healing for those suffering illness and injury to body, mind, and spirit. We ask your comfort for the families and friends of the recently deceased. We especially ask your healing love for the family and friends we now name (pause), including those on our parish prayer list:
