Dearest Lord, you are clear in what you require of us: to do justice and love kindness. Inspire us to walk humbly with you and all peoples of the world, that we may find peace in this life.
We walk humbly with you.
Dearest Lord, you have made foolish the wisdom of the world. Inspire and bless us to seek your wisdom through prayer, study, and in conversation with our beloved priests, Berto and Hugh.
We walk humbly with you.
Dearest Lord, today’s Psalm instructs us to speak without guile, to heap no contempt upon our neighbors or to take bribes against the innocent. May these instructions guide us our elected and appointed leaders in the towns, cities, states, and federal government of the United States.
We walk humbly with you.
Dearest Lord, thank you for Sermon on the Mount. Inspire us to love the poor, the meek, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, those who mourn, and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, as we hunger and thirst ourselves.
We walk humbly with you.
Dearest Lord, help us to do justice to your creation, to love the seas and skies and the earth itself with all our hearts and minds and souls, and to love all creatures on the earth as we do ourselves.
We walk humbly with you.
Dearest Lord, who chooses to bless the weak and meek, be with those who suffer in mind, body and spirit. Be with those who have recently departed and their grieving families. Be with the family and friends we now name (pause), including those on our parish prayer list:
We walk humbly with you.
