We gather today with thankfulness for Love that binds us to one another. May we broaden our reach of love to the stranger on the street.
We are one in Love.
Spirit of Love, look upon my heart. Find the small seed that needs to grow within me. May I find ways to nurture it.
We are one in Love.
We give thanks for Fr. Berto, Fr. Hugh, and for each person in this parish. Our connections are strong. May we widen our circle of connections, visible and invisible, to include the whole world.
We are one in Love.
Spirit of Love, we ache for our nation, for our world in turmoil. May we not lose hope and find ways to contribute to its healing, both at home and in war-torn countries. May we, who have so much, not forget those who suffer every day from injustice, homelessness, hunger, and poverty.
We are one in Love.
Spirit of Love, we remember the lives of those who are near death and those who have died, especially astronaut Bill Anders, who showed us the beauty of our earth from space, reminding us that we are one people and have one home. May those who are grieving find solace and strength day by day.
We are one in Love.
This day, Fathers’ Day, is a day of thanksgiving for some, but a difficult day for others. Spirit of Love, may each person find healing where it is needed and acknowledge joy where it abounds.
We are one in Love.
Spirit of Love, we remember those dear to us who are struggling with sickness, depression, loneliness, financial difficulties. May we hold them in our hearts and look into ours to see how we might be of help. We remember those we name now either silently or aloud … as well as those on our prayer list:
And for those with needs unknown to us, may the Spirit of Love meet them in ways we cannot comprehend.
May we be one in Love.
