We Pray for the World and the Church

Source of our meaning, on this day after All Souls Day, we are thankful for those who have gone before us, those loving persons we have looked up to as guides on our journeys through life and those we have walked alongside. May we give comfort to those in mourning and find ways through our grief if we are the mourners. As Christ loved us,

we walk also in Love.

Source of our meaning, we admit we are fearful at this particular time in our nation. But we will find You whatever the election outcome is and wherever we are. We will continue to love our neighbor as ourselves, and we know who our neighbor is. It is everyone. As Christ loved us,

we walk in Love.

Source of our meaning, we are thankful for the many opportunities Emmanuel gives us to love the world in practical ways – Dinner Kitchen, E-Kids, Altar Guild, Garden Gang, Eucharistic Ministers, Peace Vigil and Meditation, and many more. May we each find our niche as we find ways to serve. As Christ loved us, 

we walk in Love.

Source of our meaning, the pain and suffering of the world because of war, racism, and poverty is almost too much to bear, and yet we here on Orcas Island experience only a small fraction of it in comparison. May we ask ourselves, “What would Love do?” As Christ loved us,

we walk in Love.

Source of our meaning, we hold in our hearts those people we know and those we don’t know who are experiencing hardships, whether they be financial difficulties, illness, mental and emotional turmoil, or estrangement from loved ones. We name them now silently or aloud (pause to mention names). We especially remember those on our parish prayer list (say names together slowly): and those for whom no one prays.
