Love, from which all blessings flow, it is easy to be thankful when life is good and we have what we need. May we still give thanks when times are difficult, and may we dig deep to find the strength that comes from love. O come, o come, Emmanuel;
Be our hope and our salvation.

Love, from which courage comes, we have not forgotten those who are suffering in war-torn countries. May our love reach them in practical ways, and may we continue to urge the people in power to find solutions quickly. O come, o come, Emmanuel;
Be our hope and our salvation.

Love, which is the transforming power that connects us to every person on earth, may we not be complacent at this time in the life of our nation. May we find ways to help those more vulnerable than us. O come, o come, Emmanuel;
Be our hope and our salvation.

Love, from which beauty flows, we live on an amazing planet filled with glorious mountains and deserts, oceans and lakes and rivers. It sustains us with its abundance. May we do all we can to love it and protect it. O come, o come, Emmanuel;
Be our hope and our salvation.

Love, which fills our beloved Emmanuel parish, we give thanks for our priests Berto and Hugh and all who give their time and talents to keep it functioning, not only as a place of worship and beauty, but as a place of compassion, safety and justice. O come, o come, Emmanuel;
Be our hope and our salvation.

Love, which exists even after we end our days on earth, we remember those who have died and those who mourn them. May we do our part to comfort them in meaningful ways. O come, o come, Emmanuel;
Be our hope and our salvation.

Love, which binds us together, we remember those in our world family who are suffering from physical and mental health problems, financial difficulties, loneliness, addiction, and lack of adequate housing. May we search our hearts to find ways we can help. We especially hold in our hearts those known only to us…(Say the names silently or aloud) and those on our parish prayer list. (Say the names together slowly)…
O come, o come, Emmanuel;
Be our hope and our salvation.

We pray to you also for the forgiveness of our sins.
Silence is kept.
Have mercy upon us, most merciful God; in your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown,  things done and left undone; and so uphold us by your Spirit  that we may live and serve you in newness of life, to the honor and glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen.
