O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you, we
give thanks for your church and especially the Episcopal Church
as well as everyone who believes in You. We pray that we can be
your faithful servants at Emmanuel, on this island, and for our
families and friends wherever they may be.
We trust in God rather than mere mortals.
O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you, we give
thanks for this nation, including all in authority and every resident.
We pray that we all remember that even those that differ from us
are your children and ask that everyone searches for common
ground even when we disagree.
We trust in God rather than mere mortals.
O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you, we give
thanks for this precious earth and for every creature, tribe,
language, people and nation on this planet. Without denying our
mind, disparaging your studies, and denigrating our rationality,
help us to know that the true source of life and love is You. We
pray for peace and protection from harm for all.
We trust in God rather than mere mortals.
O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you, we give
thanks for this community of Orcas Island. We pray that families,
students, and teachers enjoy the February break this week
returning refreshed to resume their studies.
We trust in God rather than mere mortals.
O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you, we give
thanks for every resident of Orcas Island as well as their families
and loved ones. We pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit,
from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness,
particularly those we now name either silently or aloud,
(pause, mention silently or aloud) and especially for those on our parish
prayer list… (say the names together slowly)… as well as those for whom
no one prays; may they be comforted by Your words: blessed are
you who are hungry now, for you will be filled.
We trust in God rather than mere mortals.
O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you, we pray for
those near death, and their medical, and spiritual caregivers. We
pray for those that have died asking that their reward be great in
heaven. We ask that those that mourn be comforted by Your
words: blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. We hold
those who have died, whom we love, in our hearts before God.
We trust in God rather than mere mortals.
