We give thanks for all believers and houses of worship, especially the Episcopal Church and our Presiding Bishop Sean, our Bishop Phil and our priests Berto and Hugh. May they be preach the gospel and inspire us to remember Jesus words that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few so that we may be God’s laborers in this temporal world.
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me; O Lord, be my helper.
As we celebrate 249 years of these United States this weekend, we pray for our leaders and all who call this nation home. May we reflect on the fact that the church did not observe Independence Day liturgically from 1789 until 1928.
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me; O Lord, be my helper.
We pray for the welfare of every nation and human being from every tribe, language, ethnicity and nation on this fragile earth. May leaders realize that compromise and peace lead to prosperity rather than intransigence and war so that nations may come together to work on common threats to this planet
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me; O Lord, be my helper.
We give thanks for Orcas Island and the surrounding Salish Sea. We pray for those who do not feel safe and give thanks to those that protect us. During this busy summer season, we ask for patience, so we greet visitors with a welcoming smile.Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me; O Lord, be my helper.
We pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me; O Lord, be my helper.
We give thanks for the lives of those near death, those who have died and the caregivers who are by their side. We ask that those that mourn are comforted by memories and your Holy Spirit. We pray especially for the victims of mass shootings and their families whose lives were senselessly changed for ever by such violence.
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me; O Lord, be my helper.
