We acknowledge that we are clay in the potter’s hands
and allow ourselves to be molded anew as we learn what it means
to love.
May we allow ourselves each day to be molded into new
vessels of love.
The beauty of the earth continually inspires and restores us, not
just hereon Orcas Island, but everywhere we travel or know
about. The auroras, the grandeur of the mountains, oceans,
forests, deserts and stars all serve to remind us that we are only a
speck among all creation.
May all human beings humble themselves each day in the
face of the wonder we live in and take steps to protect it.
We feel crushed by the weight of the hateful actions of our
broken fellow human brothers and sisters when they seek to
destroy others. We are all connected! May we live that way.
May we find ways to contribute to the healing of our world.
We as a parish are so grateful for Berto and Hugh, who lead us as
priests and fellowship with us as friends. We are so blessed that
they are with us.
May we be grateful every day.
Our nation and the world are struggling in their efforts to find
peace. Their efforts are focused on power rather than love and
compassion. We ask ourselves what can we do?
May we not be discouraged. May we devote ourselves to
goodness.
We think of those close to us who have died and hold them in our
hearts. May those who are grieving find peace and reach out to
others when they are ready.
May we find healthy ways to support those who mourn.
We think of those who suffer due to injustice. May they have
strength and faith to meet each day. And for those who suffer due
to sickness, those who are hungry or lonely, those who are
discouraged, we pray that their needs will be met.
May we look for loving ways to address their needs.
We pray for those on our minds, either silently or aloud … and
also for those on our parish prayer list …and for those whom no one
prays; asking that they be comforted by your Holy Spirit. It
matters not if we do not know them all or their needs. The
energy and love in our prayers will reach them.
