O Shepherd of Israel,we give thanks for your universal church, all priests, holy people, believers and non-believing inquirers. We know we are blessed by our Emmanuel community and our priests. We ask that this Advent we let God come to us and be with us. May we respond by being your faithful servants.

Restore us, O God of hosts show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved.

O Shepherd of Israel,we give thanks for these United States despite our divisions. We ask that we respond to the current time with as much grace and courage as Joseph exhibited when he accepted the angel’s message to stay with Mary and name the son Jesus.

Restore us, O God of hosts show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved.

O Shepherd of Israel,we give thanks for this fragile earth and all nations and peoples. We ask that countries seek peace rather than war as well as sustainable development rather than destruction.

Restore us, O God of hosts show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved.

O Shepherd of Israel, we give thanks for Orcas Island and the Salish Sea. As we welcome family, friends, neighbors and islanders during the final days of Advent and the upcoming Christmas season, may we greet and treat them in Paul’s way: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Restore us, O God of hosts show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved.

O Shepherd of Israel,we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, victims of violence of all forms including mass shootings, and  particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list as well as those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.

Restore us, O God of hosts show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved.

O Shepherd of Israel,we give thanks for the lives of the recently departed. We hold memories of them lovingly in our hearts. We ask that those near death, their caregivers as well as family members that stand watch be comforted by the Holy Spirit.

Restore us, O God of hosts show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved.
