Spirit of Love, you are what holds the world together.  May we learn each day how to walk in your love so that our brothers and sisters here and across the world will be the recipients of your love through us. 

May we answer the call to show love to our neighbors

Spirit of Love, despite all the anguish of the world, there are so many people who are doing the right thing, feeding the hungry, tending the wounds, rescuing those in danger, caring for the children.  May we not lose hope in these times.  May we each find a way to be an instrument of Love.

May we answer the call to show love to the world.

Spirit of Love, while we weep for the injustices in our nation, may we be bold in addressing them and seek ways that we can make a difference, even if it seems like a small thing.  May our anxieties not paralyze us, and may we find ways to take care of ourselves and each other.

May we answer the call to show love to our country.

Spirit of Love, we are fortunate to live on this island and be part of the Emmanuel community. We are so grateful for the vital spirit of this church, for our priests, Berto and Hugh, as they share their lives and their teachings with us, and for the many ways we have of connecting with the greater community of Orcas Island. May we not take it for granted.

May we answer the call to show love to our church and community.

Spirit of Love, may we be sensitive to the social injustices in our world and find ways to bring comfort to those who live with emotional and physical trauma, grave illness, lack of health care, addiction, lack of employment and housing.

May we answer the call to show love to those in need.

Spirit of Love, we think with love of those who have died and those who have lost someone dear.  May your love and ours bring comfort, and may we remember what we have learned from those who have left us.

May we answer the call to show love to those who grieve.

Spirit of Love, we remember and pray for those on our parish prayer list…  as well as those persons known only to us.
