We Pray for the World and the Church
Source of wisdom and wonder: Your words fill us with hope. Each of us is a mustard seed trying to flourish in the vast web of the created world…help us always to discern what is right, and to keep our hearts open to all, to be mindful of the great knowledge you have carved in the foundation of our being. Help us to remember that even the smallest effort can yield abundant fruits.
Turn to us in mercy; let your countenance shine upon us.
Teach us to pray more deeply. Help us all to remember our true purpose and actively embrace your teaching with renewed energy as we extend ourselves to those in need. Keep us moving forward with grace and faithfulness as we follow the leadership of our priests, Berto and Hugh. We pray for them and for their families, and all whom they love. And we pray for spiritual leaders everywhere. May their footsteps remain steady, their hearts open to the wonder that vibrates throughout creation.

Gratitude to all who donated and worked to prepare and expedite Market Day. As always, our fellowship with one another, and our work together made it well worth the tremendous effort. May many people experience long-term benefits through the support of community non-profits that Market Day provides.. We also pray for the ongoing success of the Goats for Widows project and are grateful for the commitment of fellow parishioner Sharman for her support of the visit of Fr. John Ng’Oma from Malawi and will help as we are able.

Our eyes shed streams of tears for the harm so many do, oblivious to the voice of Wisdom. Help our political leaders discern what is best for the people, and for the world generally, and to stay true to these ideals. We pray for all public servants and ask that they be healthy in body, mind, and spirit as they serve the people who trust them. We pray for the success of all who are working to support just and fair election practices.

May the currents of your great and steadfast love sustain the spirit of all those suffering from natural and human-caused disasters, illness, disabilities, addictions, poverty, homelessness, loneliness, family disturbances, and uncertainty. We pray for those mourning the loss of loved ones. Bring us comfort in our loneliness; hold us in your embrace as we discover anew the kingdom of heaven. Oh Source of Wisdom and Wonder, sustain us and unite us in the glory of eternal life. AMEN.

O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servant Noel Nesser (7/28) as he begins another year. Grant that he may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen his trust in your goodness all the days of his life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
