Lector: Creator and sustaining God, inspire us this week to see beyond our prejudices and our entitlement. Lord, come and listen to us.
We thank you that we need not be of any particular nation, race, or gender, for you will listen simply because we are all created and loved by you. Lord, come and listen to us.
Cause the leaders of the world ‘s nations and businesses to ?nd solutions to war, famine, drought, poverty, and all other forms of human misery. We pray especially for those who are refugees and immigrants. Lord, come and listen to us.
Cause the leaders of our churches to have courage to receive all of your children. We pray especially for the needs of the homeless on Orcas as fall brings rain and colder weather. Lord, come and listen to us.
Cause us to grow and heal from all the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual illness we su?er, especially those on our parish prayer list… Your prayers and petitions are invited at this time either aloud or in silence. (silence) Give us courage to be insistent in our prayers. Lord, come and listen to us.
Give us the ability to trust that those who have died are in your care always. Lord, come and listen to us.
Presider: Compassionate God, grant us the ability and trust to know that we are worthy of your attention and healing. Give us the ?rm conviction that your power, healing, and grace are for all people. Give us ful?llment on our journey. Amen.
