We pray that all members of your Universal Church remember that love does not insist on its own way.
For you are our hope, O God
We pray that all leaders of this nation and candidates for office remember that love is not boastful or arrogant or rude.
For you are our hope, O God
We pray that all who care for this world remember that love does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in truth.
For you are our hope, O God
We pray that we and our Orcas neighbors remember that love is patient and love is kind.
For you are our hope, O God
We pray that all who suffer in body, mind or spirit especially those on our parish prayer list…. remember that Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things.
For you are our hope, O God
We pray those near death and those that mourn may we all be inspired by Alfred Delp, Jesuit priest and martyr who was hung on February 2, 1945 by the Nazis who wrote if through one’s life there is a little more love and kindness, a little more truth and light in the world, one will not have lived in vain.
For you are our hope, O God
We give thanks for Bill and Margie Bangs, our co-Treasurers as well as the Finance Committee for all the detail work they do to ensure we are good stewards of our financial resources that are entrusted to us by our generous parishioners to love God, God’s creation, and our neighbors as ourselves.
For you are our hope, O God
Presider: O God, you are indeed our hope. We know that love never ends. May our faith sustain us for in you we have taken refuge. Amen.
