Lector: Generous Lord, we are deeply moved by the promise of your goodness and mercy, by your promise that you hear our prayers, and by your invitation to the wedding banquet, where everything is ready.
Lord, Hear our prayer of gratitude.
Wisdom Lord, we hear you when you ask us to think on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, pleasing and commendable to you. Help our world, our nation, our church to do those things that we have learned and received and heard and seen in you. Let your gentleness be known to all.
Lord, Hear our prayer of supplication.
Merciful Lord, our world is torn by violence and storm. We ask you to help us be refuge to the poor, to aid the needy in their distress, to be a shelter from the rainstorm, and shade from the heat. Lord, Hear our prayer of supplication.
Creator Lord, you have made the earth so beautiful that our hearts stop to consider it.
We are deeply thankful for the beauty of our home — its skies, seas, the land we inhabit, and the ?ora and fauna we share it with. Help us to be good stewards of your magni?cent creation. Hear our prayer of gratitude and supplication.
Peace Lord, we know that you are near.
We seek not to worry, but, in everything, by prayer, to let our requests be known to you. We pray for ourselves and others who are su?ering in mind, body and spirit, for the deceased and their grieving families, for those we now name silently or aloud (pause), including those we now name: Babs, Steve, Maggie, Brian, Makenna, Marvel, Autumn, Michael and Sally, Michael, Bari, Barbara, Jack, Sharon, Lee, Lorelei, Gladys, Sunshine, Bronwen, Sally, Kay.
Hear our prayers of gratitude and supplication.
Presider: Dearest Lord, Help us to carry everything to you in prayer. Along with our prayers of thanksgiving and supplication, we pray for a peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that will guard our hearts and minds in Jesus. Amen.
