Lector: Holy Immortal One, we pray for your church and all its members. We give thanks for our Presiding Bishop Michael, our Bishop Greg, our priests Berto and Hugh who ably lead and inspire us. We believe that You love everyone without exception; may our actions show that we love You with our whole heart, soul and mind and love our neighbors as ourselves.
We put our trust in You.
Holy Immortal One, we pray for this country, for our President, Donald, our Governor, Jay, for the United States Congress, our state legislature and county council, may they and we remember that we are all one and it is our job, our duty, and our great challenge to fight the voices of division and seek the salve of reconciliation.
We put our trust in You.
Holy Immortal One, You created a beautiful world and entrusted us to care for it, may we heal, defend, clean up, and work toward justice for all God’s creation.
We put our trust in You.
Holy Immortal One, be present with us today as we hold our annual meeting to consider the temporal concerns of Your church, Emmanuel. We give thanks for outgoing vestry members and welcome those joining the vestry.
We put our trust in You.
Holy Immortal One, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list…; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
We put our trust in You.
Holy Immortal One, we pray for all who have died and those near death, may mourners be comforted and we all be inspired by martyrs who saw death as the entry to freedom and eternal life.
We put our trust in You.
Presider: Holy Immortal One, You taught us to love everyone, help us to forgive, so we may be forgiven, to do good without expectation of reward, through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
