Intercessor Oh Christ the King, on this your special day, We, your people, praise you and trust the path we walk with you. We thank you for the wisdom of Berto and Hugh, who do their best to keep us attuned with our faith community. We ask blessings and encouragement for them and for spiritual leaders everywhere.
People For this we pray with heart and soul, beloved Christ the King.
Intercessor The darker days of winter descend upon us. We pray that we may find ways to make the world a better place for everyone, through phone calls, gifts, letters, and other opportunities to reach out in whatever ways are possible. Guide us in supporting the causes that need us most, that we might best serve the earth and all of creation. In doing this we express our love for you.
People For this we pray with heart and soul, beloved Christ the King.
May we grow in inner strength and wisdom during this time of trial. We pray particularly for the researchers and those working hard to create and
distribute viable vaccines and treatments. May we recognize truth and celebrate what is good for our families and for all the world.
For this we pray with heart and soul, beloved Christ the King.
Many in our parish are in need of special prayer and help. We mention here
We pray also for special intentions known privately to us [pause] and for all those for whom no one prays.
For this we pray with heart and soul, beloved Christ the King.
Oh Beloved Christ, in these discontented winter days bring care and comfort to all those in need of food and medical care, and to all who have lost or are separated from loved ones during this pandemic time.
Bring reassurance to all, and let us remember to be thankful for our many blessings, especially for our spiritual community, our beautiful island home, and our family and friends throughout the world, knowing that if we cannot share the physical Thanksgiving celebration with them, we are
blessed in having other ways to reach out.
For this we pray with heart and soul, beloved Christ the King.
Let us pray for those celebrating birthdays this week:
People O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servants: George Karnikis (22), Millie Vetterlein (24), Barbara Evans (24), Doug Schliebus (26), Catherine Ellis (28), and Tricia Erly (28), as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness all the days
of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let us also pray for those celebrating wedding anniversaries this week:
People O God, you have so consecrated the covenant of marriage that in it is represented the spiritual unity between Christ and his Church: Send your blessing upon John & Rose Beckwith (24), as they renew their promises to each other, and grant them your grace, that they may so love, honor, and cherish each other in faithfulness and patience, in wisdom and true godliness, that their lives together may be a witness to your love and forgiveness, and that their home may be a haven of blessing and
peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
