Intercessor: Precious Lord, as we enter Holy Week, help us to lay down our lives like palms, in humble service to your mission of love for the world.
Jesus, Lord, we are humbled by your sacrifice for us.
Precious Lord, as we enter Holy Week, help us to remember your mission, that we might love you with the whole of our bodies, minds, and spirits, and love our neighbors as ourselves, with the most tender hearts of loving-kindness.
Jesus, Lord, we are humbled by your sacrifice for us.
Precious Lord, as we enter Holy Week, we are startled anew by the politics of your crucifixion. We are horrified by the hunger of the mob for blood; we ask that, morning by morning, our ears might be awakened to your purpose of loving kindness in the world.
Jesus Lord, we are humbled by your sacrifice for us.
Precious Lord, we ask you to sustain the weary with your word as we minister to them with our hearts and hands. Be with the hungry, the homeless, the sick, the dying; be with the victims of injustice and violence; be with those seeking work and purpose, that every one of us might discover the fullness of your love for us.
Jesus Lord, we are humbled by your sacrifice for us.
Precious Lord, we have desecrated your temple in our avidity for material wealth. Help us to restore your seas, skies and earth to health, and to recognize all life on earth as the incarnation of your infinite love.
Jesus Lord, we are humbled by your sacrifice for us.
Precious Lord, make your face to shine upon those who ache in body, mind and spirit. Be with the lonely, the despairing; be with those consumed by worry and uncertainty; be with the sick, the dying and departed and the families and friends who minister to and grieve for them.
Be especially with the precious friends and family we now name (pause), including those on our parish prayer list:… and for those for whom no one prays. May they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
Jesus Lord, we are humbled by your sacrifice for us.
