Intercessor: Dearest Shepherd of all life, we ask for the green pastures and still waters of love abiding, that none on earth shall want for food, shelter, safety, and justice, including all species who call earth “home.”
In Jesus’s name, we pray.
Dearest Shepherd of the earthly church, help us to obey your commandments, so that we might abide in you and you in us. Be with our leaders, especially our priests Berto and Hugh, as they guide us on the path of loving-kindness.
In Jesus’s name, we pray.
Dearest Shepherd of our nation, help us to love not just in word or speech, but in truth and action as we confront racial injustice, income inequality, climate change, refugees at the border, and the ravages of the pandemic.
In Jesus’s name, we pray.
Dearest Shepherd of the poor, how can we see a brother or sister in need and refuse help? Teach us, like Jesus, to lay down our lives for the hungry, the homeless, the sick, the dying, and those suffering fear and anxiety, that we might take our lives up again.
In Jesus’s name, we pray.
Dearest Shepherd of green pastures and still waters, help us to recognize and protect you in all your exquisite manifestations, especially as we celebrate the joyful return of light and warmth and bird song that is spring.
In Jesus’s name, we pray.
Dearest Shepherd of the suffering, revive the souls and bodies of all those suffering sickness, injury, fear, anxiety, anger, and confusion. Be with the dying and those who grieve them. Shower with love those in need with your mercy. We especially ask this for the friends and family members we now name (pause), including those on our parish prayer list: and for those for whom no one prays.
In Jesus’s name, we pray.
Let us pray for those celebrating Birthdays this week:
O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servants, Connor Pamatian (5/24) and Betsy Nelson (5/29) as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let us pray for those celebrating Anniversaries this week:
Grant, O God, in your compassion, that Scott and Bronwen Jones (5/28), having taken each other in marriage, and affirming again the covenant which they have made, may grow in forgiveness, loyalty, and love; and come at last to the eternal joys which you have promised through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
