God of light, bring those in authority to new life in the ways they lead their nations. Show them the path of integrity and truth that their people may live in peace, that all may have plenty.

God of eternity, we give thanks for those who have gone before us and have entered into new and everlasting life in your presence.

Dearest Lord, you sustain the weary with a word. Be with worried, the angry, the confused, and the fearful. Calm their hearts. Be with the sick and injured. Heal their wounds. Be with the recently departed and their grieving family and friends. Cry with them. Be with the family and friends we now name, silently and aloud (pause), including those on our parish prayer list… and for those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit. Lead us on this walk of love, O Lord.
