Lord, we give thanks for you and your church in all its forms. We ask that our leaders remind us not only to focus on nurturing your church and our neighbors in this temporal world but remind us that what we cannot see is eternal.
Lord, though I walk in the midst of trouble, you answer me.
Lord, we give thanks for these United States and our neighbor Canada with whom we share the precious Salish Sea. We ask that our leaders balance short term and long term needs so we all can enjoy liberty and justice.
Lord, though I walk in the midst of trouble, you answer me.
Lord, we give thanks for this earth, all countries and inhabitants. We pray for peace in world weary regions while asking that leaders have the vision to use war funds to protect our previous earth.
Lord, though I walk in the midst of trouble, you answer me.
Lord, we give thanks for our belove Orcas Island. We ask that Your Holy Spirit smiles upon our high school graduates when they graduate next Saturday.
Lord, though I walk in the midst of trouble, you answer me.
Lord, we give thanks for all people. We pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
Lord, though I walk in the midst of trouble, you answer me.
Lord, we give thanks for this temporal life and especially for the lives of those near death, those that recently died as well as their caregivers. On this day that your church remembers Colomba, Abbot of Iona, we ask that through remembering his life and labors, we may show our thankfulness to you by following the example of his zeal and patience.
Lord, though I walk in the midst of trouble, you answer me.
