Eternal God, we give thanks for your church in all its forms. We ask that your ministers remind us that You are the bread of life. Whoever comes to You will never be hungry, and whoever believes in You will never be thirsty.

Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me.
Eternal God, we give thanks for this land and those that govern. We ask that You protect first responders who may put themselves in harm’s way to protect, rescue and treat those in need.

Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me.

Eternal God, we give thanks for this fragile earth and all human beings. We ask that You give comfort to those in peril from famine, fire, flood, heat and war.

Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me.

Eternal God, we give thanks for this precious island, the surrounding waters and the Coast Salish people who always called it “our land” and “our water”. We ask that You guide us to be good stewards of this precious land and water.

Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me.
Eternal God, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… and those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.

Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me.

Eternal God, we give thanks for the lives of those near death, those who have died as well  as their caregivers. We ask that You welcome the departed and comfort the living. Each departed friend reminds us of our inevitable death and passing from this temporal world. We ask that You give us the strength and courage to be Your faithful servants while we walk the earth.

Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me.
