Oh Glorious Mystery -We thank you and praise you for the beauty of the world, for the surging rebirth of hope, for a possible dawn of peace and comfort in war-ravaged countries: Myanmar, Ethiopia, the Middle East, Ukraine, and elsewhere. We ask that the hopes and intentions of peacemakers throughout the world be effective and that we may all share in the journey of making a better world for everyone.
Happy are those who put their trust in you.
Oh Glorious Mystery – We pray especially for those hoping to take on the heavy mantle of leadership of our country. May they tread the path of true wisdom, profound insight, and gracious respect for the many perspectives necessary to a viable democracy. May we all be kind to one another as we explore ways to grow forward.
Happy are those who put their trust in you.
Oh Glorious Mystery – We thank you and praise you for the excellent inspiration of our leadership in our Emmanuel church, in our diocese, our country, and the world. May we of Emmanuel work together with spiritual and world leaders everywhere to help heal the scars of war and environmental abuse, whether by prayer, funding, or hands-on assistance. We pray that people learn from past mistakes, and support one another and the creation itself with consideration and kindness.
Happy are those who put their trust in you.
Oh Glorious Mystery – We, your people, surrender our self-absorption and celebrate the wonders of our community in so many ways. We acknowledge the work of the non-profits on our island and the extraordinary coordination and inspiration engendered by Hilary Canty, recently retired from the Orcas Island Community Foundation. We wish her well on the next stage of her journey.
Happy are those who put their trust in you.
Oh Glorious Mystery – We look with wonder on the natural world in its magnificent diversity. We are grateful and thank you anew for the gifts of clean air, pure water, comfortable climate, and abundant natural beauty.
Happy are those who put their trust in you.
Oh Glorious Mystery – Here, as everywhere, there are those who flounder—those who suffer from addictions, loneliness, illness, prejudice, poverty, and daunting transitions. Guide us in helping those in need of support and encouragement throughout our community and in the wider world. Strengthen us in our prayer ministry that our reach may be extended and more effective.
Happy are those who put their trust in you.
And now we take a moment to pray together for private concerns [mention privately or aloud]. We pray for those on our Parish Prayer List, and those for whom no one prays.
We pray for those who have died and those who mourn them. May wings of comfort enfold them with the realization that we are indeed, one heart and one body.
