Oh spirit of wisdom – we patiently await the rebirth of wonder that casts light into the shattered cities and villages of war torn countries, and in the hallowed halls of governmental authorities, and wherever people are without homes: those living in the wreckage of ruined cities, those who are outcasts of societies who disdain those who are different, and people who have lost homes and livelihood through natural disasters. We ask that the inner light shine within all needing comfort and reassurance.
Rejoice, rejoice: the lord is near.

Oh spirit of kindness – We praise and thank all those who show us the way to live more as you would have us live. These include priests and teachers, and spiritual leaders who teach through their generous spirit and their inclusion of all people. We especially honor and pray for our parish priests, Berto and Hugh, our Bishop Phillip, and our Presiding Bishop, Sean, whose care is an example for us all.
Rejoice, rejoice: the lord is near.

Oh spirit of gratitude – we are so grateful to be here in a living and loving community. Inspire us all to do what is necessary to improve the quality and health of the environment. Help us find the way to restore balance that all species may thrive.
Rejoice, rejoice: the lord is near.

Oh spirit of justice – We pray for governments and their leadership. May the Syrians, Ukranians, Lebanese, Palestinians and Israelis, and all troubled nations know peace and stability. May ceasefires encourage leaders and followers to reach out to one another as fellow human beings creating a more peaceful world where all creeds and races practice loving kindness to outsiders as well as to their dearest people.
Rejoice, rejoice: the lord is near.

Oh spirit of hope – we pray for all those in our community who cast aside complacency to help families and individuals who struggle—emotionally and materially. Bless all helpers, and bring the light of compassion to new brilliance.
Rejoice, rejoice: the lord is near.

Oh spirit of grace – we ask blessings for all those near to us, particularly those with needs and concerns known privately to us (pause to name silently or aloud), and those on our Parish Prayer List: … and those for whom no one prays.
Rejoice, rejoice: the lord is near.

Oh spirit of eternity – we pray for the dying, and those who have recently died (pause to name quietly) and those who love them. May our hearts and souls be filled with the light of love that is the heart of our creator and the very creation. Amen.
