Eternal God, we give thanks for your church and all ministers both lay and ordained especially for the safe return of Berto and Hugh. We are grateful that they remind us to listen to Moses and the prophets.
You are my refuge and my stronghold, O God.
Eternal God, we give thanks for this nation. We ask that our leaders find ways to reconcile rather than divide us. You are my refuge and my stronghold, O God.
Eternal God, we give thanks for all nations and inhabitants of this world. We ask that they all be comforted by your words; You shall not be afraid of any terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day even when faced with war, famine, drought, fire, or natural disaster.
You are my refuge and my stronghold, O God.
Eternal God, we give thanks for our precious Orcas Island where we live surrounded by beauty while be insulated from much of the turmoil throughout this land and world. We ask that we not take what we have for granted and work to be good stewards of this special place.
You are my refuge and my stronghold, O God.
Eternal God, we give thanks for the gift of life to us and to every human. We pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list…those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
You are my refuge and my stronghold, O God.
Eternal God, we give thanks for the promise of being comforted in heaven. We love those who have died as we love you and we loved them in this earthly life.
You are my refuge and my stronghold, O God.
