Merciful God, we pray for your church in all its forms that your servants may fulfill your mission so that mercy and truth meet each other.

Merciful God, as we enter a new church year, we give thanks for Emmanuel’s Altar Guild especially Audrey and Jan who help us to glorify you each week.

Merciful God, we pray for the welfare of this world especially for those living in fear, danger and sickness.

Merciful God, we pray for all the departed, especially Fr. Ben Shawhan, and Saint Nicholas of Myra whose secret gift-giving we still enjoy and those who died on this day of infamy in 1941.

Presider: Merciful God, comfort your people as we prepare the way to celebrate the birth of our Redeemer who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
