Lector: Lord, we your servants, knowing that nothing is impossible with God, pray for your church and the world.

Chant

Lord, help your servants in all your churches be aware and strengthen by your spirit so we may do your work to fulfill your mission.

Lord, help our leaders remember that they are your servants so that they may make wise decisions on our behalf to give rest from our enemies, recognizing that they also are your children, to bring peace throughout the world. Chant

Lord, help us to be inspired by Chico Mendes, a rubber worker who was killed on tomorrow’s date in 1988 for his efforts to protect the Amazon forest, to care for the Earth and all creatures on land, below ground, in the air, and in the water.

Lord, help us to be safe on our island, welcome visitors, whether family, friends or strangers, warmly throughout our community and especially in our church.

Chant

Lord, help all of those who are in pain, whether physical, emotional or spiritual, and attend especially to the special needs and concerns of those on our parish prayer list.

Lord, help those who grieve, especially during Advent and the imminent Christmas season, for the departed and welcome the departed into your courts.

Presider: Lord, help your servants remember that nothing is impossible with you, so that we may be comforted and do your work on this Earth, that your Son Jesus Christ, at his coming, may find in us a mansion prepared for Himself; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
