Dearest Lord, we ask for your presence in our broken world. Energize us to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, heal the hurt, restore the peace. Call us in light to your love.

We come to you, Lord, transformed by your spirit.

Dearest Lord, be with your church as it examines its conscience. Let the open statement of truth triumph over our hidden shame.

We come to you, Lord, transformed by your spirit.

Dearest Lord, be with our nation, its citizens and its leaders. Inspire us, in all things, to be a nation grounded in freedom, well-being, health and justice for all peoples.

We come to you, Lord, transformed by your spirit.

Dearest Lord, you ask us to care for the widow, the orphan, the stranger. Oh lover of justice, embolden us to love like you.

We come to you, Lord, transformed by your spirit.

Dearest Lord, the earth is yours, and the fulness thereof. Help us to be good stewards of your magnificence, honoring your creation with tender, loving care.

We come to you, Lord, transformed by your spirit.

Dearest Lord, in our human form, we suffer sickness, injury, death, sadness, anger, fear, anxiety, grief and shame. Transform us with faith, hope, and love. Bless us with the wisdom of ages. Be particularly with those we now name, silently and aloud (long pause), including those on our parish prayer list:

We come to you, Lord, transformed by your spirit.

Presider: We see you, Lord. With unveiled faces, we turn to your love.
