Dear Loving Lord, we pray to you with our whole hearts, for the world is in need of your healing and grace.

It is easy for us to become fearful and lost in the pain and struggles of the world.

Loving Lord, Happy are the people whose strength is in you. It is the spirit that gives life.

Loving Lord, We pray for your churches of many names, in many places, to be inspired by your Holy Spirit to serve others, with the strength of your power Lord.,

May they take up the whole armor of God, and fasten the belt of truth around their waist.

Bless all who enter this church, Emmanuel, may they feel welcome, included and blessed in your peace, Lord.

Lord, make us each messengers of your love, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted.

Loving Lord, Bless each person who serves you through Emmanuel Parish in our mission.

Bless Father Berto and Father Hugh as they teach, lead and inspire us in your name. We are many who come together as one in your Spirit of service, Lord.

Lord of Power and Might, every generous act of giving is from above.

Loving Lord, Bless these United States, for each person you have created as equal, and for those who make decisions for this country and the world.

We pray for your hand to be on their hearts and minds. Give them strength to do the right thing, with the passion of your love.

Lord of Power and Might, make us leaders for peace in the world, with equality and justice for all people, for the broken and the healers. We are all your children.

Loving Lord, Comfort the prisoners and captives, and those who are suffering loss and fear. We pray for the victims of war and natural disasters.

Lord, Bless and restore those who put themselves at risk to rescue and care for others. They are the brave hearts doing your will.

Lord of Power and Might, bring faith and hope, food and water, to those who need your compassion and protection.

We pray for the special needs we each carry, and for those we hold up to you for healing and peace, either silently or aloud (pause), and especially for those we name now. (Please pray slowly): …. and for those for whom no one prays.

We pray in the Spirit of your love and grace, Lord. You are the healing peace.

Loving Lord, We pray for your earth, for the natural environment we depend on: clean air and water, the cleansing forests, the ice caps and oceans. We are shocked by the global weather extremes, and pray to change our stewardship of your resources, to use them as you intend for your interdependent creation. Lord, our time is in your hands.

Lord of Power and Might, give all nations the wisdom and will to urgently conserve this good earth to your honor. Our time is in your hands.

For those who have passed from our sight. May they be joyfully shining in your heavenly light.

Lord, be with those we carry in our hearts. May they be filled with your peace. And bless those who mourn.

Loving Lord of all earth and heaven, of what was, and what will be, hear our prayers. Graft in our hearts the love of your name. Carry us into our day with your strength, to know your will, and to serve as you call us, as Jesus taught.

May we hear your call and be nourished. We pray with deepest gratitude for your abiding love. In Jesus name we pray.

Let us pray for those celebrating Birthdays this week:

O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servants Susan McBain (8/23), Mary McCulloch (8/23), Jeffry Steele (8/26), George Garrels (8/28) and Harlan Pedersen (8/28) as they begin another year.  Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Let us pray for those celebrating Anniversaries this week:

Grant, O God, in your compassion, that Keven McKenney & Cindy Wolf (8/26), having taken each other in marriage, and affirming again the covenant which they have made, may grow in forgiveness, loyalty, and love; and come at last to the eternal joys which you have promised through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
